Prior to children commencing school, our Reception teachers visit your child at their preschool or kindergarten to observe and meet them. This supports their transition at OLQP, as they see a familiar face on their first day!
New Reception children who are starting school in either Term 1 or Term 3 are invited to our transition program in the term prior to them beginning school.
Our Little Peacemakers Reception Transition Program is a carefully considered series of visits that aim to ensure all children feel welcomed, comfortable, and excited about their next steps into Reception.
We know that children who have a positive start to school are more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed, and ready to learn. They feel good about themselves as learners and develop a sense of belonging to the school community.
Your child will experience school life integrated with a play-based curriculum. We aim to develop social connections, and school readiness. This opportunity will immerse children in the Our Lady Queen of Peace life and connect strongly with our school community.
Parents are invited to an information session the term before their child begins school. This session will provide further information on supporting their child as they begin their school journey and meet other parents.
